Prom Dress Consignment Sale – VIP Shoppers!

Photobucket

With the Prom Dress Consignment Sale dress registration underway, it’s time to start talking about how the girls can best benefit from this sale by becoming a VIP shopper. I’m currently putting together goodie bags – collecting special ‘deals’ from local vendors who have something to offer students at prom. Amanda Miller Makeup Artistry, Savvi’s Formal Wear, and Teena’s Day Spa are all just a few to be included! The first 100 students to come shop at the sale will receive one of these FREE goodie bags! If you have a favorite local vendor you’d love to receive a special deal on, be sure to let me know so I can contact them!

So, how do you ensure you’re one of the first 100 shoppers? GREAT question! You need to become a VIP shopper, which can be done in a couple of different ways.

First, consign a dress. In order for this sale to be a huge hit, I need awesome dresses in the sale! Do you have dresses hanging in your closet that you’re never going to wear? Of course! Who doesn’t?! You wear a gorgeous dress to prom once, then you have nothing to do with it. Consign your dress in the sale and make great money off of it while it is still current and in great condition.

Second, sign up to work a shift. I’m going to need lots of help coordinating this sale from behind the counter to restocking racks to monitoring the dressing room. Invite your friends along and make it a fun night to hang out. Those who work will receive snacks and drinks to munch on throughout the shift. It will be a really fun place to hang out!

So, VIP shoppers can do one or both of the above. Based on what you’re willing to do:

1. Consign a dress and work two shifts – shop FIRST!

2. Consign a dress and work one shift – shop SECOND!

3. Work one shift – shop THIRD!

4. Consign a dress – shop FOURTH!

After all VIP shoppers have been released to shop for 30+ minutes, the sale will open to the public. But HURRY, there are only a limited number of VIP slots. CONTACT ME via the contact form, phone (618-550-2299) or email: info @ emilydobson .com

Happy Wednesday!

Behind the Scenes – in Photoshop

For those of you wondering what goes on after the session, here is a QUICK version of what I do to each and every image I showcase to my client. It takes a little work, but I love the final outcome! This is in ‘fast forward’ mode, so that you aren’t bored to death by the end.:)

Product Spotlight – Flushmount Wedding Albums

One of my favorite things we have in our house is our personal flushmount wedding album. I remember when Wade and I finished up our engagement session…our photographer, Tabitha, invited us over to her house to view a couple of wedding albums she had on hand. We sat on a couch in her office and flipped through two or three different gorgeous flushmount wedding albums. It increased the excitement for my wedding day, and of course the album I would own after my wedding day was over and gone.

Now, four years later, I still find myself opening this album and reliving our wedding day. I smile as I look through the album and relive each moment – remembering all of the silly details and the precious moments experienced on that day.

This is why I offer flushmount wedding albums to my brides and grooms.

What is so special about the word “flushmount”? Well, do you remember my online video from Monday where I discussed mounted verses unmounted prints? Flushmount wedding albums are the highest quality albums currently available on the market. They feature Kodak photographic paper MOUNTED on an archival board. Wedding albums should retell your wedding story for years and years – I want each couple to take their album and show all of their kids and grandkids their special day. With this many people flipping through the album over a number of years, it has to be durable. Plus, the quality of the book is amazing! I love watching clients react to them – especially to their own – digital is great, but nothing beats the genuine emotion that comes with the touch and feel of an album such as this.

I took a few snapshots of Drew and Sarah’s flushmount album last summer before I delivered it. Of course, I’ve decided to share them with all of you! Their gorgeous cover:

And a few shots of the inside designs (you’ll notice the pages layflat and therefore, do not distort the images).

Happy Wednesday!

And the winner is….

Thank you to everyone who entered the Organic Bloom contest over the weekend through my business Facebook page! These frames are currently one of my favorite products offered on the market, and something I’m thrilled to have available to my clients! So, once again, I counted the number of entries this morning and asked my handy dandy selection committee (aka Wade) to pick a number between 1 & 31. And the winner is…

I am pleased to announce the launch of a fabulous Senior Spokesmodel program here at Emily Dobson Photography. Spring is just around the corner (although it kind of feels like it’s already here!). With this in mind, I hope to encourage students to start thinking about their senior portraits before they start planning their summer vacations!

Who is the ideal candidate for this program? I’m looking for current high school junior females who are friendly and outgoing. Ladies, you might be involved in various extra curricular activities because you like to have fun and work with others. I am also looking for candidates who are creative and info fashion – girls who won’t be afraid to bring their individual style and flair to the session!

What is a Senior Spokesmodel? Senior Models are representatives for my photography company, and specifically for my senior portraits. ALL models will receive:

-A stylized senior model shoot with professional makeup application

-Facebook images from your model shoot

-Model cards to pass out to all of your friends

-A full senior portrait session

-Opportunities to earn cash

-A chance to win an iPad2! (I need a minimum of 5 COMMITTED models to conduct the giveaway!)

What should I know?

You should be familiar with my style of portraits. I specialize in custom, on-location senior portraits. I operate a strictly on-location studio conducting sessions all over Madison County. ALSO, I hope to award one 2013 senior with an educational incentive to be applied toward his/her college education! After I reach a minimum number of seniors photographed, every 2012 senior photographed at Emily Dobson Photography WILL be eligible for this $500 incentive!

What is required?

You will exclusively represent Emily Dobson Photography. The ‘price of admission’ to become a model depends on which level you decide to participate in. The ‘price of admission’ is basically an upfront investment in your senior portrait order. After reviewing applications, I will contact qualifying models to set up a mandatory, obligation-free Model Meetup. During this meeting, I will outline everything involved in being a model including the cost involved. Then, the decision to opt in is completely in YOUR hands! Current high school sophomores may also apply to be in the program. First priority will be given to high school juniors, but I’ll gladly accept sophomore applications and who knows…maybe you’ll be invited to participate as well!

What do I need to do?

APPLY NOW! I ask that my Senior Models complete their model sessions by May 31, 2012 and their full portrait sessions by August 1, 2012. So, don’t procrastinate! I will be selecting models in February! CLICK HERE to fill out the application.
