Product Spotlight – Flushmount Wedding Albums

One of my favorite things we have in our house is our personal flushmount wedding album. I remember when Wade and I finished up our engagement session…our photographer, Tabitha, invited us over to her house to view a couple of wedding albums she had on hand. We sat on a couch in her office and flipped through two or three different gorgeous flushmount wedding albums. It increased the excitement for my wedding day, and of course the album I would own after my wedding day was over and gone.

Now, four years later, I still find myself opening this album and reliving our wedding day. I smile as I look through the album and relive each moment – remembering all of the silly details and the precious moments experienced on that day.

This is why I offer flushmount wedding albums to my brides and grooms.

What is so special about the word “flushmount”? Well, do you remember my online video from Monday where I discussed mounted verses unmounted prints? Flushmount wedding albums are the highest quality albums currently available on the market. They feature Kodak photographic paper MOUNTED on an archival board. Wedding albums should retell your wedding story for years and years – I want each couple to take their album and show all of their kids and grandkids their special day. With this many people flipping through the album over a number of years, it has to be durable. Plus, the quality of the book is amazing! I love watching clients react to them – especially to their own – digital is great, but nothing beats the genuine emotion that comes with the touch and feel of an album such as this.

I took a few snapshots of Drew and Sarah’s flushmount album last summer before I delivered it. Of course, I’ve decided to share them with all of you! Their gorgeous cover:

And a few shots of the inside designs (you’ll notice the pages layflat and therefore, do not distort the images).

Emily’s Tidbits – Mounted Prints

Well, I’m a little apprehensive about publishing today’s blog post. It has taken me over an hour to produce what you are about to see, but it is also a year in the making – sort of. I feel a little silly talking to myself and even more silly hearing how awesome I sound on camera…how I seem so ‘polished.’ Maybe I’m totally NOT polished and now that I say that you’re going to think, “Uh, yeah. Anything BUT polished there Em.” But hey, its time to take a risk. Here’s to trying new things!

I think I stumbled a couple of times…and I thought I made this an HD video – even though it doesn’t look like it. Will work on these things for next time!

And please, if you actually watch…let me know. Leave a comment. Offer some suggestions. Do you like the music? Is the video too cheesy? Should I never do it again? Do I need to lay off the polished-ness? (Yes I just made the word up.) Seriously…I’d rather not continue making a fool of myself if everyone hates it!;)

And why on earth did the clip stop with THIS FACE?!?!?!

Wes & Megan – {Alton, IL Wedding}

Though a wee bit chilly, it was a gorgeous day on December 9th for Wes and Megan’s wedding. The diffused sunlight was perfect for the few portraits we were able to have outside and we didn’t have any blizzards to fight or overcome! Though not a full post of their wedding, I did want to take a few minutes to share of couple of sneak peeks from their day. Hope you enjoy!

The moment every bride dreams about her whole life…

…the groom’s reaction. I love how REAL couples can be during a first look. Wes’s face says it all!

And the intimacy the first look allows… OH! how I loooove these two images…

And the winner is….

Thank you to everyone who entered the Organic Bloom contest over the weekend through my business Facebook page! These frames are currently one of my favorite products offered on the market, and something I’m thrilled to have available to my clients! So, once again, I counted the number of entries this morning and asked my handy dandy selection committee (aka Wade) to pick a number between 1 & 31. And the winner is…

Donnie & Susan {Columbia, MO Wedding}

Several months ago (when it was warm and sunny outside!), I had the opportunity to shoot alongside Anna Pociask Photography. Anna’s work is phenomenal and I was truly honored to work with her. During the fall, I had a busy schedule of my own, and I postponed editing the pictures (the beauty of second shooting!). Today, while browsing through some of my 2011 wedding portraits, I came across these beauties and decided to share them with all of you!

Thank you so much, Anna, for allowing me the opportunity to take part in one of your weddings! I look forward to our next ‘shoot date’!;)

I hope to share more from this wedding in the future. For now, enjoy quick sneak peek!
